There should be no debate as to whether the city of Santa Ana and the Santa Ana Police Department (SAPD) should proactively release ICE courtesy call data. At the same time, news coverage about the issue should consider this critical factor missing from the discourse: the ICE data is a public record and the city and SAPD have already agreed that it is.
