ICE/DHS Kicked Out Of Glendale Jail After Our Reporting
The city of Glendale canceled their contract with the federal agencies just days after we first reported on the issue.

Just days after we first reported on Glendale’s collaboration with ICE/DHS, the city of Glendale canceled the contract they had with those federal agencies. The press release issued by the city yesterday evening stated, “After careful consideration, the City of Glendale has decided to end its agreement with U.S. Homeland Security/ICE to house federal immigration detainees.”
They went on to say that Glendale Police Department is “fully compliant” with state sanctuary law, a claim they were making prior to the groundbreaking reporting from us.
For this reason, Inadvertent is filing a public records request with the city of Glendale to obtain all internal communications about the ICE contract and their role in taking people from their communities.
We were only able to move so quickly on the story because of the paid subscribers that give us the resource to follow up on information received. The contract being canceled is a direct impact of this type of reporting.
If you were still unsure about what type of impact journalism can have, let this be the example. All paid subscriptions go to journalism that has real-world impacts.
Thank you.
